Home/Hygiene Services

Project Description

The benefits of observing good oral hygiene are not just limited to having a mouth that is not only healthy in appearance and function, but may extend to your overall health. Numerous medical disorders, including diabetes and heart-related ailments, have been associated to poor and improper oral care. Good oral hygiene means that your teeth are clean and free of debris and harmful substances; the gums are pink, healthy, and do not bleed easily when brushing or flossing; and never having a problem with bad breath.

Practicing Good Oral Hygiene

Practicing good oral hygiene offers enormous benefits to you. Aside from brushing properly at least twice a day and flossing every day, there are other things you can observe. One of these is to eat a balanced diet and one that limits intake of harmful substances known to cause tooth or gum damage. Rinsing with fluoride regularly and after every meal should also be observed. Taking precautionary measures that guard against injury to the teeth or mouth is a good practice to follow. Mouth guards should always be worn when engaging in physical activities. And parents should be reminded to teach children the proper oral hygiene at the earliest possible time and make it a habit on their part.

Role of a Dentist in Hygiene Services

A dental health provider can contribute a lot in achieving proper dental and oral care. Any visit you make with a dentist would always include time for good oral hygiene. Examination of your teeth and gums will form part of the regular procedure in your visit. This is intended to address any potential problem before it gets to be serious. Regular dental cleaning will also be encouraged and observed consistently.
